BillionairesTrendingTarzana Hospital Gifted $50M for Renovation

Donation from Donald and Andrea Friese will help fund a new five-story building.

The ongoing renovation of the Providence CedarsSinai–Tarzana Medical Center has been boosted with a $50M donation from Southern California entrepreneur Donald Friese and his wife, Andrea.

Friese, a billionaire and CEO of C.R. Laurence, gifted $50M to the Providence Tarzana Foundation that will go toward ongoing renovation and expansion of the local hospital.

The Providence Cedars-Sinai–Tarzana Medical Center is currently updating its facility, renovating ambulance and outpatient spaces, and building a new five-story tower. The building will be named the Friese Family Patient Tower in honor of Donald and Andrea.

“This transformative gift from the Friese family will enable Providence Southern California and Cedars-Sinai to further our collective mission of bringing the highest-quality care to residents of the San Fernando Valley,” Cedars-Sinai President and CEO Thomas M. Priselac said in a statement.

Work on the hospital is budgeted at $542M and is expected to wrap in 2023.
